Punk rock, baby
When the gods and goddesses of rock, punk, pop and calypso congregated for a hot night of drunken debauchery, they spawned Muy Cansado—a three-piece band from Boston. They like punk. They play punk. But they’re not a punk band—just like the Talking Heads weren’t a punk band.
Our story
Where we come from. Muy Cansado style.
Muy Mulvey
Chris Mulvey has big hair, a guitar & a big voice. He's known for his obsessions with Bob Dylan, the Pixies and the Beatles. His favorite thing to do, other than perform live with Muy Cansado, is to sit in his bedroom and sing songs. His bedroom walls are plain. He lives in Boston, but he only has four long-sleeved shirts and doesn't own a winter coat. Chris is on an undisclosed spiritual quest.
Muy Libera
When bassist Lisa Libera was a little girl she would have great fun deciding what to be for Halloween. But alas, it didn’t always work out. Sometimes she would say, “I want to be a ballerina” and her mother would say, “No, you have to be a scarecrow.” But the Halloween Lisa said she wanted to be a rock star, her mommy said yes. And it was the best Halloween ever. Today, Lisa wonders why little girls dress up like Paris Hilton for Halloween. Do their mothers tell them to dress up like scarecrows too?
Muy Fine
Dave Fine is the drummer. He does not believe in bios. Nor does he believe in God. Connection? You be the judge.
Our first time
A long time ago, our moms got pregnant.
Fast-forward several years, drummer David Fine and bassist Lisa Libera met and decided they wanted to form a band. They were roommates, best friends and musical co-conspirators. So they responded to an ad in Craig’s List posted by singer/guitarist Chris Mulvey.
They played. They clicked. They started a band and took their name from a patch of graffiti in their practice space. It means “very tired.”
We are Muy Cansado
Haircuts, Clothing, Kids, or Causes,
Cars (fancy or fuel efficient),
Bleeding hearts or Love-torn eyes,
Peace of mind, Heartbreaks, Spititual rejuvenation,
Self-righteous self-hatred,
We don't care about it.
We make music.
